Le mot supposément a longtemps été considéré comme un calque de l’anglais supposedly, mais l’adverbe est aujourd’hui pleinement accepté par certains dictionnaires canadiens. Il est considéré comme un canadianisme.

On peut aussi employer :
- prétendument (sans accent circonflexe sur le u)
- soi-disant
- hypothétiquement
- censément
