seasonable, seasonably, seasonal, seasonally

Seasonal refers to events, conditions or activities taking place in a particular season.

  • Barbecues and bug spray are seasonal items.

Seasonable means normal for the time of year. It is not a synonym for mild.

  • The weather is seasonable for January.

The corresponding adverbs are seasonally and seasonably.

  • Many Canadians avoid the seasonally cold temperatures by vacationing in the Caribbean.
  • The weather is seasonably cold.
