Objects at a 90° angle are perpendicular to one another. Perpendicular with is non-standard.
- The leaning Tower of Pisa is famous for not being perpendicular to the ground.
- Yonge Street runs perpendicular to the shore of Lake Ontario.
In formal writing, do not qualify perpendicular to, as in roughly perpendicular to and similar expressions.
- Thames St. and Waverly Ave. are perpendicular (not roughly perpendicular) to each other.
