Le terme plein air s’écrit sans trait d’union.
Le plein air signifie « l’extérieur ». En plein air est synonyme de au grand air (dehors, au vent, dans la nature) :
- un pique-nique en plein air
Au Canada, on emploie également le plein air pour désigner les activités physiques faites à l’extérieur :
- des jeux de plein air
- le camping comme loisir de plein air
- des activités physiques de plein air
- aimer le plein air
