Le nom féminin madame est un titre de civilité et n’est jamais précédé de l’article la. On dit la dame et non la madame.

  • La dame est très gentille. (et non : la madame est très gentille)
  • Madame Boisclair est très gentille.

Par contre, le nom masculin monsieur peut être précédé de l’article le, quand il est employé au sens de « homme ». Employé comme titre de civilité, monsieur n’est jamais précédé d’un article :

  • Le monsieur est très gentil.
  • Monsieur Dumont est très gentil. (et non : Le Monsieur Dumont)
