Good news: the Language Portal of Canada has a new menu that will help you to easily navigate between our language resources and quickly find answers to your language-related questions!

L’usage courant ne fait pas de distinction entre continuer à et continuer de. Le choix de la préposition est souvent fonction de l’euphonie. Ainsi on dit :

  • Il continuait d’agir. (plutôt que : Il continuait à agir.)

On peut aussi vouloir éviter la répétition d’une préposition :

  • Les inspecteurs continuent de veiller à la bonne marche de l’enquête.
