L’adjectif antipersonnel se dit des armes et engins employés contre les hommes, et non contre le matériel.
La plupart des ouvrages le considèrent comme un adjectif invariable :
- une mine antipersonnel, des mines antipersonnel
La composante personnel est un substantif et non un adjectif, car à l’origine, il s’agissait de mines dirigées contre « le personnel » militaire.
Certains ouvrages suggèrent l’emploi de antipersonne pour régler le problème d’invariabilité :
- une mine antipersonne, des mines antipersonnes
Nouvelle orthographe
Selon la nouvelle orthographe, on écrit :
- une mine antipersonnel, des mines antipersonnelles
