- L’adjectif brevetable signifie qui est susceptible de faire l’objet d’un brevet. « Ce procédé est brevetable. »Découverte, invention brevetable. « Le certificat d’utilité est un titre de propriété industrielle qui a pour objet une invention brevetable. » Pour être brevetable, l’invention ou la découverte doit être nouvelle, pouvoir être d’application industrielle et impliquer une activité inventive ne procédant pas de l’état de la technique existante. - Antonyme : non brevetable. « Les inventions qui sont contraires à l’ordre public et aux bonnes mœurs sont non brevetables. »
