Redundancies are words that unnecessarily repeat information. Because an innovation is the application of a new idea or the creation of a new product or service, the modifier new in the familiar expression new innovation is redundant.
- The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is an innovation (not new innovation) in the stock market.
