In Canada, the spelling vigour is preferred to the American vigor.

  • Brian tackled the chore of cleaning the barbecue with great vigour.

However, the letter u is dropped in the words invigorating, vigorous and vigorously.

  • Karina started each day with an invigorating dip in the lake.
  • Giving a Saint Bernard a bath is vigorous exercise.
