Quotation marks should not enclose the following:
- titles at the beginning of papers or articles
- chapter headings
- epigraphs
- well-known literary expressions
- the words yes or no (except in direct speech)
- proverbs or well-known sayings
- matter following so-called
- mathematical or scientific symbols
