onward, onwards

Both onward and onwards are adverbs.

  • Where can researchers find copies of Hansard from 1956 onward (or onwards)?
  • From that day onward (or onwards), Anakin was unable to hear the highest notes.

Onward can also be used as an adjective.

  • There is nothing that can be done to stop the onward march of progress.
  • Lynne telephoned Air Canada to confirm her reservation for the onward journey.
