Both forms of the past participle, lighted and lit, are found in Canadian usage.
- Antonio has lit (or lighted) the Canada Day fireworks in Yellowknife for the last ten years.
The participles lit and lighted are used as adjectives as well.
- This is a well–lighted studio.
- I was surprised to find a lighted candle in the empty room.
- Smokers are best advised not to walk through crowds while holding a lit cigarette.
