In Canadian usage, the noun ends in –ce: licence.

  • Jenny got her driver’s licence yesterday!

And the verb ends in –se: license.

  • Is your establishment licensed to sell alcoholic beverages to the public?

However, Americans prefer the spelling license in both cases.
