Labour Day, Labor Day

The name of the holiday that falls on the first Monday in September is spelled Labour Day in Canada.

  • The school term will begin on the Tuesday immediately after Labour Day.

The spelling Labor Day is used in the United States for the American holiday celebrated on the same date.

May 1 is the date designated to honour workers in many other countries.

  • In Mexico, Labour Day (or Día del Trabajo) is celebrated on the first of May.
