The Kurds are a people who live in Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Armenia and Azerbaijan.

  • The Kurds have no recognized country to call their own.

Kurds speak Kurdish, a language of the West Iranian group. Kurdish is also an adjective.

  • Canada’s Kurdish community is small and concentrated in urban areas.
