Hindustani is a the name of a group of languages spoken in Pakistan and northern India; its written forms include Hindi and Urdu.
One of the 15 official languages of India, Hindi is generally written in the Devanagari (Sanskrit) alphabet.
- Many people in Mauritius and Fiji speak Hindi.
Urdu, the official language of Pakistan, is closely related to Hindi and is written in a form of Arabic script.
- Pakistan’s official languages are English and Urdu.
