In many instances, the best solution is simply to omit the word hereinafter.
- Legalistic: The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (hereinafter DFO) agrees to support the lighthouse restoration program.
- Plain: The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) agrees to support the lighthouse restoration program.
