disinterested, uninterested

Disinterested means “unbiased” or “impartial.”

  • You cannot expect a disinterested opinion from your parents or your children.
  • It is difficult to remain disinterested when your own livelihood is at stake.

Uninterested means “lacking curiosity about, or lacking interest in, something.”
