Complement spelled with an e means “something that completes or makes perfect.” It can be used as both a noun and a verb.

Compliment spelled with an i means “praise.” Compliment can be used as a noun or a verb.
- Sheila doesn’t receive enough compliments for her excellent work.
- Victoria appreciates style and often compliments people on what they wear.
