La tournée bonjour my friend! tour
From the Translation Bureau
Learn about La tournée bonjour my friend! tour to promote linguistic duality in Canada.
Purpose of the tour
To mark the 50th anniversary of the Official Languages Act, the Canadian Foundation for Cross-Cultural Dialogue has launched a brand new initiative: La tournée bonjour my friend! tour.
From April 15 to June 22, 2019, the two ambassadors for the tour, Laura Lussier and Shaunpal Jandu, will travel across the country from west to east, meeting Canadians all along the way. Their goal: to spark a national conversation on linguistic duality by talking about their experiences and listening to the students, professionals, public servants and community groups who come out to meet them. Each event will involve a discussion in which participants will be encouraged to share their views on linguistic duality.
The Language Portal of Canada (an initiative of the Translation Bureau at Public Services and Procurement Canada) is one of the major partners for the project.
The tour set off from Victoria, British Columbia, on April 15 and will make about 20 stops in large cities across the country.
You can see the complete tour itinerary in the “Tour” section on the Bonjour my friend! website.
