Verbe transitif
Remarque : Le participe passé s’écrit toujours sans t. Comme adjectif, toutefois, le mot s’orthographie différemment selon le sens. On écrit béni ou bénie pour qualifier une chose qui semble favorisée par les dieux (écouler des jours bénis). Lorsqu’il est question d’objets du culte qui ont reçu la bénédiction d’un prêtre, on écrit plutôt bénit ou bénite (pain bénit; eau bénite).
