This is a wonderful article. You remind me of me! I am a life-long lover of languages too. I learned Polish at home and have studied French, German, Russian and some Italian, Spanish Greek and Hawaiian. I had a look at Arabic. That looks challenging. If time and money were not an issue, I would happily learn every language!
