Il ne faut pas confondre les termes vol direct et vol sans escale.
Un vol sans escale (non-stop flight) est un vol ininterrompu, sans changement d’avion.
Un vol direct (direct flight) peut comporter une ou plusieurs escales sans changement d’avion. On dit aussi :
- direct
- vol aérien transitaire
- vol-trans-direct (France)
L’emploi de l’expression calquée vol non-stop est déconseillé, quoiqu’elle soit attestée dans certains ouvrages.
