Les noms motion et proposition sont souvent employés l’un pour l’autre, bien que motion ait un caractère plus technique.
Une motion est une proposition faite par un des membres d’une assemblée délibérante.
Dans les procès-verbaux, on utilise le plus souvent le terme proposition.
Une fois adoptée, la proposition devient une résolution.
