Abréviation
Le nom minute s’abrège en min (sans point abréviatif). Il ne faut pas confondre cette abréviation avec min. pour minimum.
En apposition
En apposition, minute signifie « instantané », « qui est fait rapidement ». Il s’emploie avec ou sans trait d’union. Le mot reste au singulier (invariable), même s’il est joint à un nom au pluriel :
- des repas-minute
- des boissons minute
Il porte parfois la mention « familier », mais est attesté dans certains domaines. Dans la langue soutenue, selon le contexte, on peut recourir à d’autres qualificatifs comme :
- rapide
- instantané
- éclair
- prêt à…
Exemples
- la restauration rapide
- un aliment prêt-à-manger
