Le nom législation désigne l’ensemble des lois adoptées par un pays dans des domaines précis :
- la législation en matière de transport
Il est abusif de l’employer en parlant d’une seule loi. Ainsi, on dit :
- Le Parlement votera une loi sur le transport des marchandises dangereuses. (et non : votera une législation…)
