En informatique, une icône désigne le pictogramme ou le symbole graphique sur lequel on clique pour activer un logiciel ou certaines fonctions :
- Une icône apparaîtra sur le bureau une fois l’installation terminée.
La graphie icone est aussi attestée, mais elle n’est pas courante au Canada.
Une icône désigne aussi une peinture religieuse sur bois :
- Sur le mur, une immense icône donnait une allure d’église à ce salon vieillot.
