L’adjectif fin peut s’employer comme adverbe. Il prend alors le sens de « complètement, entièrement » :
- Ils sont fin prêts.
- Elle est fin prête.
Fin pouvait s’employer dans la langue classique précédé de tout, pour renforcer un adjectif ou un adverbe :
- Il parle tout fin droit comme s’il lisait un livre. (Molière)
Cet usage, considéré comme familier, aurait subsisté au Canada dans l’expression tout fin seul :
- J’étais tout fin seul quand elle est arrivée.
