Employé comme adverbe, encore peut se mettre avant ou après le comparatif qu’il modifie :
- C’est encore pire que je ne croyais. / C’est pire encore que je ne croyais.
- Je l’aimais encore davantage. / Je l’aimais davantage encore.
- Il chantait encore mieux que son frère. / Il chantait mieux encore que son frère.
- Certains joueurs de baseball gagnent encore plus qu’eux. / Certains joueurs de baseball gagnent plus encore qu’eux.
Selon certaines sources, le rejet d’encore après le comparatif relève de la langue littéraire.
