En français, pour indiquer une date approximative, on emploie l’abréviation v.V minuscule point (pour vers) plutôt que c.C minuscule point ou caC minuscule A minuscule :

Les abréviations c.C minuscule point et caC minuscule A minuscule, utilisées en anglais, sont d’origine latine; elles correspondent à circa (qui signifie en anglais around).
Dans une bibliographie, quand la date de parution d’un ouvrage est incertaine, on l’indique entre crochets, suivie d’un point d’interrogation :
