Dans la langue moderne, il est intransitif :
- Ils ont tous cotisé.
- As-tu cotisé pour le cadeau?
Le verbe s’emploie également à la forme pronominale :
- Ses enfants se cotisèrent pour lui offrir un cadeau d’anniversaire.
