La construction être connu pour suivie de l’infinitif est absente des dictionnaires.
Reconnaître, pour sa part, peut être suivi d’un verbe à l’infinitif introduit par pour :
- Le directeur est reconnu pour avoir des talents de communicateur.
On trouve être connu pour suivi d’un nom, en parlant le plus souvent de personnes :
- Le directeur était connu pour ses talents de communicateur.
Connu, signifiant « qui a telle réputation », peut être accompagné de comme, dans, en tant que, par ou pour :
- un homme connu par son sang-froid
- une femme connue pour son talent
- un professeur connu en tant que tortionnaire
