C’est de qu’il convient d’employer pour introduire un nom de discipline sportive avec le mot compétition :

  • compétition de ski (et non : compétition en ski)
  • compétition d’athlétisme (et non : compétition en athlétisme)

La préposition de accompagne également des mots comme épreuve et championnat :

  • épreuves de ski (et non : épreuves en ski)
  • championnat de ski nautique (et non : championnat en ski nautique)
