Le nom brocheuse est une impropriété au sens d’« appareil servant à attacher, entre autres, des feuilles de papier » à remplacer par agrafeuse :
- Sans agrafe, cette agrafeuse m’est aussi utile qu’un gant sans pouce.
- Il s’est agrafé un doigt par accident.
Dans le même sens, on emploie agrafe et agrafer, plutôt que broche et brocher.
