L’expression blind date est considérée comme un emprunt injustifié à l’anglais dans le sens de « rencontre arrangée par un tiers entre deux personnes qui ne se connaissent pas ». On doit plutôt employer :
- rendez-vous surprise
- rencontre à l’aveuglette
- rendez-vous avec un(e) inconnu(e)
- rendez-vous arrangé
- rencontre arrangée
Exemples
- Elle a un rendez-vous surprise au restaurant demain. (et non : un blind date)
- C’est par l’intermédiaire de Jeanne qu’elle a eu ce rendez-vous arrangé/cette rencontre arrangée.
