Attendre après
La tournure attendre après quelqu’un ou quelque chose est considérée comme familière ou régionale. En général, on peut la remplacer par attendre :
- J’attendais Luc depuis une heure. (au lieu de : J’attendais après Luc depuis une heure.)
- Il attend son café. (au lieu de : Il attend après son café.)
S’attendre à
On emploie s’attendre à quelque chose :
- Je m’attends à voir mon frère d’une minute à l’autre.
On dit donc s’y attendre et non s’en attendre, qui est une forme fautive.
- Il a perdu son emploi? Je m’y attendais.
S’attendre de est considéré comme vieilli.
