Les termes arrosoir et arroseur ne sont pas synonymes.
L’arrosoir désigne un « pot avec une anse, souvent muni d’une pomme, qui sert à arroser les plantes ».
L’arroseur désigne un « appareil automatique qui sert à arroser les pelouses ».
Dans un système d’irrigation, on emploie arroseur, ou le terme plus technique asperseur.
