Le nom amour est généralement masculin au singulier et parfois féminin au pluriel, surtout dans la langue littéraire :
- un amour inconditionnel
- de belles amours immortelles
- de folles amours
- des amours blessées
Le masculin pluriel est cependant répandu dans l’usage :
- des amours fous
- des amours violents
En littérature, dans un style recherché, le mot amour peut être féminin singulier, mais cet emploi est rare :
- J’ai l’âme lourde encor d’amour inexprimée. (Edmond Rostand)
Lorsqu’il est question du dieu de l’amour, le nom Amour (avec la majuscule) est toujours masculin :
- Il a sculpté de beaux Amours.
Un de + amour
Employé avec la locution un de, le nom amour est masculin :
- un de mes plus grands amours
