Le mot affaire au sens de « relation entretenue par deux personnes » est un calque de (love) affair à remplacer par liaison (amoureuse) ou aventure.
- Il a une liaison/aventure avec sa voisine. (et non : Il a une affaire avec sa voisine.)
- Elle a mis fin à la liaison amoureuse qu’elle entretenait avec un chanteur populaire. (et non : l’affaire qu’elle entretenait)
