Pour indiquer une évaluation approximative, on emploie indifféremment à ou ou, avec ou sans de, lorsqu’on peut supposer une quantité intermédiaire :
- À l’époque, elle avait douze ou treize ans. (ou : elle avait de douze à treize ans)
À se rencontre aussi dans les cas où il n’y a pas de quantité intermédiaire, mais on utilise généralement ou :
- Il y avait à ce moment-là quatre ou cinq enfants dans le parc.
