Canada School of Public Service
As part of the Roadmap for Canada's Linguistic Duality 2008-2013: Acting for the Future, the Canada School of Public Service has begun the third year of its pilot initiative geared toward online learning of English and French at ten Canadian universities.
Just over 200 students are involved with this initiative. They use selected online tools offered by the School for learning English or French as a second language. By using the tools, students can improve their written comprehension, pronunciation, grammar and writing skills and enrich their vocabulary.
In addition to language learning, the curriculum includes a component based on understanding the issues related to linguistic duality in the federal government.
Finally, this initiative strengthens the collaboration between the School and the universities while supporting public service renewal, as some students could be the public servants of tomorrow.
