And the winner is…

Writing books on politics and political figures is a talent worthy of recognition. Each year since 2000, the Writers’ Trust of Canada awards the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing to the author of the best non-fiction book on Canadian political and social issues. This year’s winner of the $25,000 prize is John English, a former Liberal MP, now teaching history at the University of Waterloo. His book “Just Watch Me: The Life of Pierre Elliott Trudeau, 1968-2000” won over other entries and is English’s second book on the life of the former prime minister.
