Toddlers with an edge

Now we know of yet another way bilingualism benefits our kids—bilingual children may have an easier time in school. Before now, research had demonstrated this advantage in five- and seven-year olds. But a Concordia study is showing that even preschoolers gain this competitive edge. According to researchers, bilingual toddlers are showing greater "cognitive flexibility."
