Contest—Ranting like Rick Mercer

Newfoundland’s Memorial University is once again holding a contest for Canada’s high school seniors who want to show their skills in writing and video production. The prize is $10,000, and the deadline for submissions is March 19.  What is a rant you may ask?  According to Memorial, a rant is “…an opinion…done with wit and humour.” Mercer, a native of Newfoundland and a recipient of an honorary degree from Memorial, is well-known for his weekly rants on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s “Rick Mercer Report.” To find out more about the contest, see Rant like Rick.
