Keeping it simple en français

Canada loses language rights pioneer

For the first time since the mid-20th century, there are new spelling rules in French. It's now okay to write "ognon" and not "oignon" and "maitre" instead of "maître." Reactions to these changes vary across Canada. Some people are for them and some are against. One thing is certain, however: roughly 2,000 French words may never be spelled the same way again.
