Public speaking contest in French

Public speaking contest in French

For the last eight years, Canadian Parents for French (CPF) has been hosting a national public speaking contest for high school students. The CPF describes itself as a national network of volunteers that values French as an integral part of Canada. Their contest is especially challenging since students must give a speech in French—their second language. To participate at the national level, students must first compete and win in their province or territory. Each of the first-place winners of the Concours d’art oratoire 2010 gets a $20,000 scholarship to the University of Ottawa.
