English can be absurd!

One of the authors of the Canadian Spelling Bee Dictionary finds no logic in the spelling and pronunciation of certain English words. Katherine Barber cites as an example “to,” pronounced “toe” sometimes and “too” at other times. She also gives many examples of homophones—words that sound the same but have different meanings, like “see” and “sea.” See how absurd English can be?
