Social bookmarking
Social bookmarking allows you to save your favourite links on the Internet through social bookmarking sites such as Google Bookmarks or Reddit. These sites offer many advantages. You can:
Social bookmarking sites are usually free, but you must subscribe to use them. Social bookmarking is also known as collaborative tagging, social classification and social indexing.
Social networking
Social networking sites, such as Facebook and Linkedln, are Internet platforms that allow you to interact online and create interconnected Web communities. You can create personal profiles, establish lists of users with whom you have a common connection or establish new relationships.
To exchange ideas with other members, you can post messages to your personal page, send e-mails and instant messages or share files.

If you're like most Canadians, many of your friends and colleagues come from different ethnic backgrounds. Maybe they were born in Canada, but their parents were born in Italy, so they would be Italo-Canadians. Maybe they themselves emigrated from Russia, so they are Russo-Canadians. Or maybe their parents are from two different countries, and they identify themselves as Irano-Polono-Canadians.

Hiberno
Meaning: Ireland, Irish
Example: A hibernophile is a person who loves anything Irish.
Hispano
Meaning: Spanish
Example: Hispanophones are people who speak Spanish.
Hungaro
Meaning: Hungary, Hungarian
Example: The Hungarian community's outstanding cultural event is called Hungarofest.
Ibero
Meaning: Iberia (Spain and Portugal), Iberian
Example: Ibero-America comprises all Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries in the Americas.
Indo
Meaning: India, Indian
Example: Indo-Canadians are Canadians whose origins go back to India.
Luso
Meaning: Portugal, Portuguese
Example: The Luso Canadian Charitable Society was formed by a group of Portuguese businessmen in Toronto.
Malay
Meaning: Malaysia, Malaysian
Example: The children were born in Canada, so they are Malay-Canadians.
Norwego
Meaning: Norway, Norwegian
Example: Norwego-Danish is quite different from pure Danish.
Perso
Meaning: Persia, Persian
Example: The Perso-Arabic script is a writing system used in several Eastern languages.
Russo
Meaning: Russia, Russian
Example: The movie was a Russo-Finnish production.
Scando
Meaning: Scandinavia, Scandinavian
Example: Scandoromani is a dialect of Romani spoken in Sweden and Norway.
Scoto
Meaning: Scotland, Scottish
Example: The term Scoto-Norman is used to describe artefacts that are partly Scottish and partly Norman.
Serbo
Meaning: Serbian
Example: Serbo-Croatian is a Slavic language spoken in the Balkans.
Sino
Meaning: Chinese
Example: Lu Xun Blossoms was the first Sino-Canadian theatrical co-production.
Swedo
Meaning: Sweden, Swedish
Example: We enjoyed this collection of Swedo-Finnish short stories.
Tibeto
Meaning: Tibet, Tibetan
Example: The Tibeto-Burman language family includes languages spoken in various Asian countries.
Turco, Turko
Meaning: Turkey, Turkish
Example: A Turko-Persian future appears to be emerging in the Middle East.
Thai
Meaning: Thailand
Example: A truce has been declared at the Thai-Cambodia border.
